European Heritage Days

The European Heritage Days (EHD) were created in 1985 by the Minister for Culture, to encourage the public to discover local and national heritage sites, and, in particular, places ordinarily closed to the public (private homes, places of power, protected monuments, etc.).
In Séné, the Heritage Days are an important event in the month of September.
Associations and public services together get involved in a varied and festive programme, so that everyone can discover the different aspects of Sinagot heritage.

The next edition of the Heritage Days will take place on Saturday 18^th and Sunday 19^th September 2021. Theme and programme of events to be announced in 2021!

In 2020, we discovered different kinds of heritage at Port-Anna: straw braiding, naval knots, pottery and traditional music.

In 2019, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 'Amis du Sinagot' association; we (re)discovered the traditional trick-taking card game ‘Aluette’; and visited the tower of Ténéro with musical entertainment.

In 2018, films of Séné in the 1950s were screened at Grain de Sel; the Vat fountain in Kerarden was restored; and the traditional 'Pardon de Saint-Laurent’ was in full swing!

In 2017, the old Kerleguen bread oven was relit by the Turlupains; the traditional Sinagot boats went out in spite of the rain; and we tasted the Douarnenez smokers’ fish in Port-Anna.
